Acquiring knowledge, skills and experience in creative work in the area of curatorial practices in scene design. Acquiring abilities for the applying those in individual end team creative work.

Understanding of types and forms of curatorial practices of scene design, as well as their content, formal and media logic and structure. Ability of individual and team creative application of acquired knowledge.

Role, mission and scope of curatorial work in scene design. Principles in curatorial practices in scene design. Curator as researcher. Curator as selector. Curator as composer. Curator as author of the concept. Borders in between curatorial and artistic practices. Curatorial practice in scene design. Use of principles in curating scene design in other artistic disciplines. The role and significance of exhibition or performing space to the articulation of curatorial concept. Curating in physical, media and virtual spaces. Perception, reception, documentation and representation of curating practices in scene design.

Lectures, practice, critical workshops, practical exercises, individual and group consultations. Workshops include lectures, discussions, and critical evaluation student’s artwork, as well as artwork from professional practices. During the semester students work on conception and realisation of curatorial concept for the final performance/exhibition of the Artistic practices in scene design course.
