Acquiring comprehensive knowledge of the concept of directing and directing the definition and interpretation of performing space. Acquiring ability to apply those knowledges in individual and team artwork.

Knowing the elements and the whole of the process of the directorial interpretation of the work and practical work. Developing abilities and mastering the skill of directorial interpretation of the drama/template and expressing the essence of the work by choosing, defining and designing the performing space.

The term and concept of stage direction. Performing space as an element of scenic language. The relationship between the space defined by the drama/template and performance space as a segment of the stage language of the performance. Director’s approach to design of performing space as an element of performance meta-text.

Critical workshops, practical exercises, individual consultations. Workshops include lectures, discussions, and critical evaluation student’s artwork, as well as artwork from professional practices. During the semester students work on creation and realisation of individual artistic work - theatre performance, based on original drama text. Students work on scene design, directing and realisation in of Scene Laboratory “Borislav Gvojić“.
