Learning about the character and meaning of sound in different historical contexts, which will facilitate the future using of this element in the field of architecture, technique and design.

Students’ ability to independently use sound and music in different scenic arts and the field of scene architecture, technique and design.

Introduction and definition of basic terms of sound and music. Usage of sound and music in different scenic contexts. The course elaborate musical works of contemporary music and popular culture of 20th and 21st centuries. The term and definition of sound installation art. Relationship between sound and space. Sound as scenic means.

Main part of the lectures is dedicated to the concept of "sound as music" where students, in addition to theoretical knowledge, participate in the workshops (exercises) in order to create and improvise sound-music on-site, after which they are assigned the task of running their own "sound journal" during the semester. Optionally, students visit an important performing events in the field of audio-visual art.
