Mastering the basic painting abilities, painting techniques and approaches. Developing the creative skills in order to be able to interpret every art problem as a result of particular artistic sensibility.

Students’ ability for individual and group practical work, applying painting techniques in designing and realization of the works in the field of scene architecture, technique and design.

Basics of painting. The study of relation between colours through analysis of surface, volume, contrasts and textures. Organization of space via analytical approach (still life, scenography, the human figure, interior, exterior). Colour. Ostwald colour wheel. Warm and cool colours. Colour mixing. Contrast between colours. Colour harmony. The use of light in order to achieve volume in the representation of space and atmosphere. Psychological and physiological effect of colours. Symbolical meaning of colours. Painting techniques. Experimenting and exploring in the domain of expressive painting means.

Transfer of practical knowledge during the classes. Supervision and correction of works. Demonstrations and consultation. During the classes of practical sessions and lectures, students work on the individual projects, which consist of developing the maps of painting works.
