General information:

Category Scientific-professional
Scientific or art field Geometric Space Theory and Interpretation in Architecture and Urbanism
ECTS 5

Introduction to the basic principles and methods of synthetic projective, differential and algebraic geometry necessary for generating complex geometric structures applicable in architecture and buildings' construction.

Mastering the knowledge of the theory of curves and surfaces and geometric transformations for the sake of successfully generatione and prediction of properties complex forms.

The concept of curves and surfaces (parametric, non-parametric, composite). Flexion and torsion of the curve. The curvature of the surface and particular lines on the surfaces. Bezier, B-spline curves and surfaces (rational and non-uniform). Continuity of curves and surfaces. Spline interpolation. Geometric transformations (perspective, projective, birational etc..) and their spatial restitution. The criteria for the predictability in obtaining spatial forms. Inversion and the relativistic geometry of the harmonically equivalent curves and surfaces.
