Enabling students to develop urban design projects and plans based on contemporary approach and state of the art research.

Students will be able to comprehend the complex processes of urban areas within the overall spatial and social context. Acquired knowledge will help the student to actively and constructively relate to the issues of urban design in order to improve the built environment.

Transformation of contemporary cities; The compact city in theory and in practice - a critical attitude towards the topic of high residential densities; Systematic approach to sustainable urban development - strategies, plans, projects; Specific topics of urban transformation - urban marketing: the role of iconic architecture, mega projects and major events; Alternative scenarios of spatial development of cities.

Lectures, Design Practice, Consultations. The course grade is formed based on the lecture and practice attendance, project grade and oral part of the examination.
