Enabling students to develop urban design projects and plans based on contemporary approach and state of the art research. Specifics of the design process will be accompanied by the practical use of BIM technology i.e. BIM software packages for the automation of technical documentation production.

Students will be able to comprehend the complex processes of urban areas within the overall spatial and social context. Acquired knowledge will help the student to actively and constructively relate to the issues of urban design in order to improve the built environment.

Transformation of contemporary cities - the wider context; Types of urban transformation; Specific topics of urban transformation - the master plan, renewal of urban centers, the revitalization of residential areas, industrial heritage, waterfronts ...; City development strategies and prospects; Cities of the future; Specifics of the design process with BIM technology and practical application in urban design; Use of BIM software packages for the automation of technical documentation production.

Lectures, design practice, exercises in computer laboratory, consultations. The course grade is formed based on the lecture and practice attendance, project grade and oral part of the examination.
