Subject: Mathematical elements of pattern recognition (17.0M552)

General information:

Category Theoretical-methodological
Scientific or art field Teorijska i primenjena matematika
ECTS 6

Enabling students to develop abstract thinking and acquire knowledge about the theory of pattern recognition.

To use the acquired knowledge in engineering subjects and in practice, postulate and solve mathematical models in engineering subjects using the knowledge about pattern recognition.

Theoretical lectures: Basic notions. Deciding functions. Pattern recognition with training. Classification algorithms. Applications. Eexercises: At the exercises, appropriate examples of theoretical instruction are being used to train the given material, and therefore the exercises contribute to the understanding of the given material.

Lectures, exercises and consultations. The Theoretical part is accompanied by appropriate examples that contribute to the understanding of the theoretical part. The agreed part of the material is oraly presented and delivered in written form as a seminar paper. Final part of the exam is in written form. In agreement with the teacher, the student studies the appropriate scientific work and prepares for the independent writing of scientific work.
