Competence in Statistical inference from binary, nominal and ordinal response variables in regression with categorical and continuous explanatory variables. Practical skills in application using statistical software

Practical skills in modelling using statistical software of Generalized (also Normal) Linear Models and Logistic, Nominal and Ordinal Linear Regression.

Exponential Family of distributions and Generalized Linear Models; Estimation and Statistical Inference; Normal linear models; Linear Regression; Nominal and Ordinal Linear Regression

Lectures; Numerical computing practice. Consultations. In lectures, theoretical part of the course is followed by typical examples for better understanding. In computer practice, using statistical software (R), which accompanies lectures, typical problems are solved and knowledge from the lectures is deepened. Besides lectures and practice, consultations are held on a regular basis. During practice, there is a practical exam, after which a Homework is given, due before first written exam. Written exam followed by an oral exam are obligatory.
