Enabling students to develop abstract thinking and acquire knowledge about the decision making theory.
Acquired knowledge is the basis for understanding basic decision making techniques. They are able to apply appropriate decision-making methods, as well as to analyze solutions offered and make effective decisions.
Theoretical teaching: 1) Decision making process (decision making and problem solving process; normative i descriptive decision making theory; preference relation and rationality rules; utility function). 2) Decision making model (decision table and decision parameters; rules of uncertainty and risk; dominant actions; decision tree). 3) Methods of selection (optimistic model; pessimistic model; combined model; min-maks remedial model; Laplace model). 4) Decision-making under risk conditions (probability and its application in decision-making; methods of selection under the conditions of risk; cardinal utility; usefulness of money; risk treatment; method of maximum expected utility; complete and incomplete information; preory and posteriori analysis; decision-making phases under risk conditions; Bayesian theorem). 5) Sequential and multiatributive decision-making (sequential decision-making; multiatributive decision-making; selection methods). 6) Game theory (definition and types of games; game model; games with two players; negotiation games). 7) Group decision making (theories of social choice; voting methods). Practical teaching (exercise): Na vežbama se rade odgovarajući primeri sa teorijske nastave kojima se uvežbava dato gradivo a samim tim vežbe doprinose i razumevanju datog gradiva.
Lectures. Consultations. Numerical exercises on computers. The presentation of the theoretical part is followed by the corresponding examples which contribute to better understanding of the theoretical part. Through homework assignments, work with the course teacher and study of the scientific journals and other relevant literature, the students are prepared for independent work on writing a scientific paper.
