Course is active from 10.08.2017..

Acquisition of basic knowledge in the field of advanced cutting technologies and the justification of their application in practice, as well as acquisition of fundamental knowledge in the field of production and industrial design.
Upgrading acquired knowledge to previous knowledge on studied cutting technologies in order to train students for efficient solving of production problems. Acquired knowledge should enable designers and constructors to successfully design products which apart from the functionality should meet aesthetic requirements.
Driven factors in modern machining technologies. Advanced cutting tool materials. Machinability of engineering materials. Basic applications of advanced machining technologies (machining of die and molds, machining of micro products, machining of monolithic parts). Machining of hard materials. Sustainable manufacturing processes (dry and semi-dry machining, cryogenic machining, high pressure jet assisted machining). Hybrid manufacturing processes (ultrasonically assisted cutting, laser assisted machining, plasma assisted machining). Multitasking and one-pass machining. Advanced modeling and optimization of machining processes. Design concept and its historical development. Importance of design. An introduction to the design process. Basic concepts of design. Universal design. Sustainable design. Concept of product. Factors influencing on the design of the product. Principles and elements of design. Expressive means in industrial design: the type, quality and color of the material and processing operations. Design, functionality, ergonomics, aesthetics and technologicality of industrial products .Design of a new product-the product innovation process.
Lectures are realized interactively in form of classes, laboratory and computer exercises. On classes theoretical part is elaborated followed by the characteristic examples in order to easily understand material. On laboratory exercises practical application of gained knowledge is realized on available laboratory equipment. On computer exercises use of information and communication technologies in managing knowledge in current field. Apart from lectures and exercises regular consultations are organized.
