Apstrakt
Mnogobrojni biomaterijali i medicinski pribor danas se uobičajeno koriste kao protetska sredstva u dentalnoj, ortopedskoj, kardiovaskularnoj, oftalmološkoj, i rekonstruktivnoj hirurgiji. Uspešno se upotrebljavaju i u intervencijama, kao što su angioplastika (stentovi) i hemodijaliza (membrane), za hirurške konce ili bioadhezive, ali i kao naprave za kontrolisano oslobađanje lekova. U ovom radu je opisana uloga svile u biomedicini i ispitana je zatezna ćvrstoća svilenog hirurškog konca, a izvršena je i analiza površine konca i površine preloma skenirajućim elektronskim mikroskopom (SEM).
