The aim of this course is to enable students to work on, maintain or upgrade already implemented information systems. Students learn how to apply performance assessment models – effectiveness of business information systems in general and ERP systems in organizations which implemented them.
After completing the course and passing the final exam, students will be qualified to assess the success- effectiveness of the implemented business information system (or the ERP system), to maintain and upgrade the existing system or to propose the transition to a different business information system. Also, students will be familiar with the basic phases of the life cycle of the ERP system.
Throughout this course the content that will be covered is as follows: life cycle of business information systems (including ERP systems), post-implementation phases (use phase, maintenance phase, evolution phase and withdrawal phase) of business information systems, success- effectiveness of business information systems, approaches to measuring success- effectiveness, models of success- effectiveness of information systems in general and ERP systems.
The course consists of lectures with examples from practice, and also of laboratory work with the help from computers and consultations. Students individually or in groups work on solving concrete problems within the post-implementation phases of business information systems. Easier understanding of the material is possible through lectures that are performed by professionals with real world examples of problems and their solutions.
