Acquiring specific knowledge in the field of functional printing. Introducing students with current situation in the field and tendencies of future developments in the domain of functional printing. Training students for independent work in the field as well as for the use of acquired knowledge in setting up experiments and their successful, methodologically correct implementation. Training students to solve experimental issues using appropriate methods and techniques. Developing analytical thinking and the ability to apply acquired knowledge in further professional and scientific work.
The necessary knowledge in the field of functional printing is acquired. Ability to engage in scientific research in the field of functional printing, the ability to interpret and solve problems related to the subject, and knowledge of basic theoretical directions. The part of the course is conducted through independent research work in the area related to the subject. Independent research work includes a detailed overview of the current scientific literature related to the field of functional printing, writing short thesis and scientific papers related the functional printing.
Printed electronics: current research in the field, printing of various types of sensors: art solutions, the advantages and disadvantages, Print OLED components: advantages and disadvantages of the procedure, printed panels of solar cells: print method, the choice of printing techniques, advantages and disadvantages of currently available commercial solutions, Print displays: methods of printing, choice of printing techniques, advantages and disadvantages of currently available commercial solutions, Print battery: methods of printing, choice of printing techniques, advantages and disadvantages of currently available commercial solutions, Printed smart textile materials: methods of printing, choice of printing techniques, advantages and disadvantages currently available commercial solutions, Printed reactive thermo-sensitive elements: print method, the choice of printing techniques, the advantages and disadvantages of currently available commercial solutions, Printed bio sensors with the active ingredients: current solutions - the advantages and disadvantages, printing of various types of sensors or as gas detectors, the change in temperature: current solutions - the advantages and disadvantages, integration of the functional printing and 3D printing: 3D printing with materials of different functional characteristics - current solutions - the advantages and disadvantages, specificity, the advantages and disadvantages of the conventional printing techniques which are used for printing of functional elements.
Teaching is performed in the form of lectures and through research. The lectures present the theoretical part of the material through the characteristic examples, using modern information and communication technologies. In addition to lectures, consultations are held regularly. The research involves the active study of primary scientific sources (journals, monographs and scientific books), performing numerical simulations and experiments, as well as writing scientific paper related to the themes within the course.
