Students gain fundamental knowledge about the principles on which relays operate and basic protection in electric power systems.
Acquired knowledge of the basics of microprocessor protection, fundamental principles on which relays operate, extended possibilities for protection using microprocessors.
Introduction. Basic principles of microprocessor protection. New possibilities for protection using microprocessor protection including fault location. Extended possibilities using application for distributed system control (possibilities of adaptive adjustment, thermal monitoring). The use of microprocessor relays for the protection of power grids, transformers, generators and motors.
