Students learn basics of computer systems architecture, with embedded systems in focus, and training for digital design and programing of embedded computer systems.
Knowledge about basic terminology, standards and technologies in the field of computer systems, as well as methods and tools for hardware and software development of embedded computer sistems.
Short history of computing systems. Central processing unit. Memory mapping. Projecting central processing unit. Arithmetic in floating point. Processing acceleration. Memories and memory hierarchy. Input-output devices. Buses. Architecture of graphic processing unit. Architecture of games. Git, github and teamwork. C programing of embedded computers. VHDL digital design of coprocessor. Intercation of hardware and software. Course project.
Lectures. Tutorials. Computer laboratory classes. Consultations. Students attend lectures and computer computer laboratory classes. Earned knowledge is tested during semester on computing laboratory classes and coarse project on computers, and at the end of the semester, when theoretical part of knowledge is assessed at the regular examination, by test exam.
