The goal of the subject is that the students are capable of independently projecting devices and systems of different levels of complexity based on the gained knowledge. Besides that they will get acquainted with the construction of some existing modern medical devices.
Linking knowledge form electronics, mechanics, signal processing, managing algorithms, physiology etc. The end result is practical realization of devices or systems for research purposes in biomedical engineering.
The decomposition of a problem and defining requests for the design of medical devices. The design of devices used for electrophysiological recordings and characteristics analysis: one-way electrophysiological amplifiers, different architectures of alternating electrophysological amplifiers, circuits used for the primary processing of electrophysiological signals. Designing devices for electric simulations: voltage simulators, current simulators, impulse generators, managing circuits and voltage converters. Circuits for wired and wireless communication: RS232, RS485, USB, Bluetooth, RF... Practical examples of designs for medical devices.
