The subject aims to introduce students to the opportunities provided by photography media in the field of scene architecture and design, as well as the impact that photography media has on other art practices. Research in photography, which is the main tool in documentary processes, serves as a starting point for various other media such as film, animation, video installation, etc. Encountering the expanded field of photography imagery where the two-dimensionality of the image is transcended.
Preparing students for independent analysis, critical thinking and use of photography media in creative research in scene arhitecture and design.
Within the subject students will be introduced to the following topics: narrative in photography, expanded media of photography, photo archive, photo documentary practices, appropriation, directed photography, materialization in photography (creative use of light), photography and space, landscape: nature, politics and power, constructing identity.
Teaching of the students will be realized through critical workshops, practical work, and consultations. Critical workshops consist of lectures, discussions, and critiques of student works and artworks. During the semester students continuously work on creating exam portfolios (projects), which means constant shooting and selection of photographs.
