Introduction to wireless networking and application of networking in Internet of Things (IoT) systems.
Knowledge of basic concepts, standards and technologies in the area of wireless networks, and ability to design and develop simple simulations and communication programs. Key properties of communication networks that are important for IoT are covered as well.
The course covers foundations of wireless networking. Primarily WiFi, ZigBee, Z-Wave and Bluetooth technologies, with a focus on software tools for diagnostics and development. In labs, students gain practical knowledge on development of wireless communication systems and their application in Internet of Things (IoT).
