The objective of the course is to master the basic knowledge in the field of application of modern methods and models for risk analysis. Based on the acquired knowledge, using methods for risk analyze, students will be able to make engineering decisions in order to reduce the risk of hazardous events.
Students will be able to self-identify and analyze risk using modern quantitative and qualitative methods. The student acquires competencies for the proper choice and application of risk analysis methods in order to reduce probability and consequences of risk realization.
Risk nomenclature, Components of risk function. Hazards and danger zones. Risk Indicators and Indices, Quantitative and Qualitative Risk Assessment Methods, Methods for Calculating Parameters of Hazard, Vulnerability Assessment Models, Exposure and Coping Capacity Analysis. Risk Reduction.
Teaching on the course includes lectures, auditory and computer exercises.
