The technical work and defending of the doctoral dissertation develops the abilities of students to prepare the results of independent scientific research in a suitable form and publicly present, as well as to respond to remarks and questions related to the topic of the doctoral dissertation.

Training of students for achieving scientific abilities and academic skills, development of creative abilities and mastering specific practical skills from the topics of doctoral dissertation. The student is also able to independently solve theoretical and practical problems, understanding and using contemporary knowledge, the ability to monitor contemporary achievements, independent and creative action, linking knowledge from different fields and application, solving problems using scientific methods, performing graphic simulations and experimental research, transferring and discussing the results of the research, communication at the professional level in writing and communicating scientific-research results through the written form of the doctoral dissertation and its public defense.

Writing and communicating scientific-research results in the form of a doctoral dissertation. The student performs the final technical treatment of the doctoral dissertation. The stolen specimens are delivered to the assessment and defense commission. The student orally defends the doctoral dissertation. The procedure of public defense of the doctoral dissertation is regulated by the general act of the Faculty of Technical Sciences.

The student creates the final version of the doctoral dissertation and after receiving the approval from the mentor, he submits the stolen samples to the assessment and defense commision. If the commission positively assesses the scientific contribution of the candidate, the defense of the doctoral dissertation is approached. The public defense of the doctoral dissertation is the final part of the study program of doctoral academic studies.
