Introduction to current systems for managing technical tasks in production and transmission (EMS) and distribution companies (DMS).
Acquiring knowledge for using EMS and DMS.
- Technical management system in transmission networks (EMS – Energy Management System). SCADA systems structure and function. Functionality of EMS systems and systems of analytical functions. SCADA/EMS systems architecture. Functional structure of SCADA/EMS systems. Implementation architecture of SCADA/EMS systems; -Introductory notes on management in power systems and fundamental control loops in transmission networks; Hierarchy management structure in power systems and time decomposition of management (primary, secondary and tertiary regulation). Place of EMS and DMS in the entire management hierarchy. The main regulation circles in transmission networks (automation regulation of active power and frequency and automated regulation of voltage and reactive power); -Technical realization of regulation of voltage and reactive powers. Functional structure (excitation, voltage control, synchronous generator, etc.). Primary, secondary and tertiary regulation. Group regulation of actuation, voltage and distribution of reactive powers in power plants; -System for regulation of frequency and active powers. Global structure. Isolated work of power plants. Complex power systems; -Technical realization of regulation of frequency and active powers. Connected power systems (interconnection). Modelling of secondary regulation of frequency. -Static State Estimation; Difference between power flows and static state estimation. Types of measurements. Criterion for medium squared deviation. Methods for solving static state estimation (method of normal equations, method of orthogonal transformation and hybrid method). System observability. Detection and identification of bad measurements; -Transient analysis. Time decomposition. Differential algebraic PES model. Methods of solving differential algebraic model. Disturbance simulation (failure). Decoupled-explicit method. Simultaneous implicit method. Disturbance treatment in transient analysis. Criteria for transient st
