Qualifications engineers to understand how the human understanding of the natural world (science) and the ability to manipulate it (technology) has developed and changed at different times and societies.
Knowledge of the mutual relations of society, science and technology, as well as the civilization, cultural, economic and political consequences of scientific discoveries and technological innovations.
Scientific systems of ideas. Technical systems. Machines, machines and algorithms. Industry and the Industrial Revolution. Scientific Revolution. Measurement and error. Natural world and the artificial world of machines. New materials and energy sources. The use and evaluation of scientific discoveries and technical achievements. Social control of science and technology. Education, and the availability of financing science and technology. Creativity and freedom of creativity in science and technology. Creativity outside the scientific and technological system.
The problem is presented in lectures, and then a discussion is opened in which students may ask questions, give objections and contribute to the presented matter.
