Significant results

• Appointments and membership of our teachers in national and international expert teams.
• Over 100 published papers in international and national journals (papers presented at over 50 international and national symposia and congresses).• In December 2008, the first issue of KOMPAKT (the first magazine in the region  that covers the topics of waste management, modern approach to solving problems in this area, positive international experience and state of waste management in Serbia) was published by the Department of Environmental Engineering.

Current  research

• Analysis of the morphological composition and quantity of municipal waste in the Republic of Serbia
• Assessing the quality of strained-filtered  water on municipal waste landfills and determining the composition of landfill gas;
• Identification of pollutants and modelling the spread on the basis of key parameters;
• Developing a model study of the environment in the investment process;
• Detection of toxic substances, PCB's, dioxins and other persistent organic pollutants (POP's) generated during the war accidents in Serbia and the former Yugoslavia (international project with the Czech Republic, Austria and Slovenia),
• Control of flooding and vulnerability (UN cooperation with the University of Bonn)
• Harmonization of national legislation in the field of water quality and control with the EU standards (the international project with Slovakia).
