The objective of the course is to introduce students with the visual arts. Through thematic lectures students will get insight to the development of visual culture and its use in contemporary times in various arts (art, film, comics, design ...). Familiarizing with the techniques of interpretation and understanding of the process of creating art, using all the most important principles that exist in art, students will be able to understand art as a reflection of time and level of the society in which it arises in order to evaluate the creative process and creative thinking.
Students’ ability for constant following of contemporary visual arts production. Getting students motivated to attend various national visual arts manifestations, as well as following international events in contemporary arts practice, directly or through media. Ability to apply acquired experience to the personal professional and artistic work.
Contemporary visual arts. Visual art forms and types. Conventional spaces for visual arts. New spaces for visual arts. Visual arts as means of space transformation. Documenting and presenting works of visual arts. Perception and reception of contemporary visual arts works.
Interactive lectures. Visits to museums and galleries. Consultations and discussions. Individual student research work.
